Sunday Morning Conversation and Book Study

Join the 9:30am conversation each Sunday during Lent beginning on February 21st and ending on March 21st.

We’ll be discussing the book “Trauma and Grace” Theology in a Ruptured World, by Serene Jones

Everyone experiences trauma.  There is common trauma like our own birth experience, and there is uncommon trauma like the Haitian earthquake. Congregations are filled with traumatized people.  Where is God in all this?

Copies of “Trauma and Grace” are available for sale in the Cowsert Parlor for $16.00.

Deacon – Led Worship on February 14th

While Valentine’s Day is held annually to celebrate romantic love and affection, as a church, we are called to love one another.  In our church, our deacons serve as the pastoral and practical care leaders of our church, working with our entire community to ensure that all are loved.

This year, Valentine’s Day also falls on the same day as the church holiday Transfiguration Sunday, which celebrates a miracle of Jesus revealing the glory of God revealed to humankind in a real and powerful way.  Please join the deacons for a powerful worship service celebrating the care-giving and love that our church can show one another to reveal God’s glory to all.

Winter Weather Update – 2.11.10 & 2.12.10

The FPC Office will remain closed on Thursday, February 11th. If you have questions or need assistance, you are welcome to email Natalie Garrett at office@fpcusa.org as she will be working remotely.

We are happy to say that the office WILL be open on Friday, February 12th.

Helping Haiti

Haiti, the poorest country in the Western hemisphere, is ill-equipped to handle such destruction.

The PCUSA is still contacting its many partners in the country, and has set a $1,000,000 goal for assistance to Haiti. You can give through this congregation, making the check out to the church, with DR000064 in the memo line, or by going to the denomination’s website.

You can also give through the Community Coalition for Haiti website.

Join us on January, 31st for this weeks Sunday Morning Conversation at 9:30 am.

This Week – Ask the Pastor Jan Edmiston will be available to (try to) answer your questions.

  • What does a pastor do all week?
  • What Bible do you recommend for children?
  • Who were Cain and Abel’s wives?

Ask your own questions this Sunday morning at 9:30 am in the Cowsert Parlor.
