About Jan Edmiston: Jan Edmiston has served Fairlington Presbyterian Church since 1989, first as co-pastor with Fred Lyon, and now as a solo pastor when Fred left Fairlington to pursue full time doctoral work. Jan and Fred are married to each other and have three children. She is humbled by the privilege of serving God with this congregation. Things you may not know about her: She won the Parallel Parking Award in Drivers' Ed and continues to be an excellent parallel parker. She is a fan of Tarheel Basketball, dark chocolate, and really good (decaf) coffee. She has a special passion for people who are not part of the church. She writes almost daily on her blog: A Church for Starving Artists.

Job 19:23-27

23 “Oh that my words were written!
Oh that they were inscribed in a book!
24 Oh that with an iron pen and lead
they were engraved in the rock forever!
25 For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
26 And after my skin has been thus destroyed,
yet in my flesh I shall see God,
27 whom I shall see for myself,
and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
My heart faints within me! (ESV)
